The French Broad River is a free flowing river in Western North Carolina near Asheville. The character of the river changes with the changing water levels. Blue Heron Whitewater has invested in a fleet of boats that offers a variety of options to maximize your fun at a variety of water levels.

All of our trips include the option to go down the river in a raft with a guide. In addition, depending on the water level, there is also the option to go in a duck or a self-guided raft. You and your family or group members can choose the boats that best fit what you would like to get out of your day on the river. A guided raft is always available for those who prefer that experience. Those who want a more adventurous trip can choose, depending on the water level, a duck or a self guided raft.
